Aloha Flowers is a Simi Valley florist that specializes in tropical flowers and leis, run by Kathy, who was born and raised in Hawaii. The first thing I noticed when Tricia and I walked in was how amazing it smells. Here’s what we learned.
Why is it called Aloha Flowers?
Kathy named the shop for the aloha spirit she grew up with in Hawaii: living with love and kindness. Tropical flowers are her specialty, and she told us the flowers she arranges are the same ones you see growing in Hawaii when you get off the plane.
Where do the flowers come from?
Kathy’s flowers come in fresh from all over the world, including Thailand, Ecuador, Colombia, and Holland. She also buys from local farms. During COVID, when local flower farms were at risk of losing their businesses, she filled her truck at the farms and sold bundles out of her garage at cost to help keep them going.
What can you get there?
Leis, bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, plants, cards, and gifts. Whatever the occasion, it’s worth stopping in to say hi to Kathy.
