Every summer, Simi Valley hosts outdoor concerts, including Concerts in the Park at Rancho Simi Community Park and Concerts in the Courtyard at the Regal theater plaza on Tapo Canyon Road. In 2023 I caught three of them: the Spazmatics in the park, plus Duran Duran tribute band Arena and Heathers On Fire in the courtyard. If you love ’80s music, you’re going to love Simi summers.
What is Concerts in the Park?
Concerts in the Park take place at Rancho Simi Community Park, which locals call the Duck Park. When I went to see the Spazmatics, an ’80s cover band, there was a huge crowd, and people were dancing, laughing, and having a great time.
What is Concerts in the Courtyard?
Concerts in the Courtyard happen in the Regal theater plaza at the corner of the 118 freeway and Tapo Canyon Road, just off Alamo Street. In 2023 I saw Arena, a Duran Duran tribute band, and Heathers On Fire playing ’80s hits.
