Mangia Mangia is an Italian food and wine festival in Moorpark, just next door to Simi Valley, that raises money for the nonprofit For the Need, which helps local kids experiencing homelessness. In 2023, Ventura County’s Italian restaurants served pasta, pizza, desserts, and wine, with live Italian music in the background. It was one of the best events I’ve been to in a long time.

Guests raved about the zucchini pasta, pizza, beignets, gelato, and the wines from around California. One guest told me she had been looking for authentic Italian food near Simi Valley, and she found it here.
What was the atmosphere like?
A beautiful venue, great weather, and live music, including a singer who came out into the crowd singing in Italian. Everyone was relaxed, eating, and drinking for charity.

All the money raised goes to For the Need, which supports kids experiencing homelessness and helps them have better lives. Sponsors in 2023 included Aaron Thomas & Associates, Ventura County Credit Union, Spectrum, Larsen’s Grill, Mid Valley Properties, and Gregg and Sharon Hartman.
